Time to tame the tracks, train-wise. Haakan and I boarded the cheapish flight from Saeve and ended up in Milano (though technically closer to Bergamo) some two hours later. A bustling and wide-spread city, it wasn't until elevenish when we finally got our dinner, having spent a good deal of time for airport transfer, mapfinding and walking before checking in at the hotel. Thus it was fairly early to bed; a train was booked for Zurich next afternoon, and we had but 3/4 of a day to explore the design capitol of the world.
The subway took us to the sports centre, including, but not limited to, Hippodromo Galoppico, Giuseppe Meazza* stadium and a realization of Leonardo da Vinci's plans for the world's largest brass horse**.
As hugeass bragging devices go, not much holds a candle to Il Doumo, one of the biggest and most lavishly decorated churches east of the Mississippi. Not far from where all the tourists gather can be found both La Scala theatre and a statue of Leonardo da Vinci***. And while there's still time, the underwhelming but photoworthy Castello Sforzesco is well worth a visit.
Far from the tourist traps, and as counterweight to the hassle it is, time-wise, money-wise and preparation-wise, to see Leo's 'The Last Supper', there is Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore. A church with several religiously themed paintings, a Last Supper of its own and, one must conclude, the Last but one Supper****. A cherry on the historical top is that the place also sports a museum of Archeology, retelling the site's Roman past.
Seldom has such a big city been checked that efficiently, that fast, but before afternoon turned into evening, we boarded the train towards the alps, and said good-bye, like Zlatan, to Milan.

One of these guys is a genius. The other is yet living, though, so he's got that going for him.
